The Unincorporated Life is a hub of fashion, design, creative expression, entrepreneurial energy, and good vibes. We’re here on business, and so are the Unincorporated Kids who trust us to provide a consistently amazing experience.
These terms and conditions will keep us all on the same page and ensure our collective focus is always where it belongs: on supporting the creative aspirations of these young designers.
Failure to adhere to these rules can cause disruption of our process, negatively impacting the students we serve. Please educate yourself on our how our brand does business before purchasing a product or service. Your interaction with The Unincorporated Life constitutes your having read and agreed to the terms and conditions herein.
The fundamental cornerstone of the program we have cultivated is the entrepreneurial energy that inspires, empowers, and motivates Unincorporated Kids to achieve extraordinary results. As a result, our educational platform should be considered a “drop off” program. Parents, caretakers, and other family members will not be allowed to sit in while classes and camps are in session.
It is each registrant’s responsibility to ensure students are mature enough to exist away from elements of comfort. The physical presence of moms or family members, stuffed animals, toys from home, and other distractions inhibit a designer’s ability to focus and will not be allowed while classes and camps are in session.
We exist for the kids. This experience is for them. Their creativity gets the spotlight. Please refrain from adding heavy amounts of design input, as this interferes with their creative process and is antithetical to the core principles of this brand.
Any actions taken that heavily interfere with our ability to provide this experience to our students may result in barring a specific student, parent, or family from our program, with no refund issued. All are expected to respect the nature of our studio and process. We have a zero tolerance policy for drama, stress, and other unrelated interferences from the outside world that stand in stark contrast to the fun atmosphere upon which this experience relies.
We are charged with the care of the world’s most precious resource, and their safety is paramount. Although our business rests in a community rich with families and children, the studio is locked when classes and camps are in session. Parents, caretakers, and other family members will not be allowed to come and go freely during these times.
We always have a 4:1 (or better) student/teacher ratio, and auxiliary staff is always present. We are good at what we do, and must be trusted to do our job. Registering means we have your trust and that you understand the designers are in a safe, fun environment. Some parents elect to remain in the area, waiting in their cars, going for a walk around the neighborhood, or relaxing at a local café while their son or daughter is designing.
All student medical conditions must be cleared prior to registration for Unincorporated camps and classes. If your student has any sort of allergy or medical condition, please clear it with us before registering. We do not have medical personnel on staff.
We do not offer refunds once spot is purchased.
If student gets sick or injured prior to the start of camp and cannot attend, if a waiting list is available, we will fill the space and switch your registration to a future camp or class.
In the event medical attention is required due to accident or illness, The Unincorporated Life shall, without accepting fiscal responsibility, seek such medical services as it deems necessary and appropriate through eMs/911 and/or local hospitals.
Fashion design is all about expression, and as a modern brand we capture the magic through photography and video frequently. Being physically present in our studio at any time constitutes your consent to be photographed or filmed, and your consent to have your image or likeness used to promote products or services relevant to The Unincorporated Life.
Unincorporated Kids have access to high-end, professional equipment to aid them in designing high-end garments. All students are expected to respect our equipment so we can continue to provide this experience. Students caught repeatedly and intentionally damaging any of our equipment are pulling creative potential away from their peers, and we reserve the right to remove them from the program with no refund assessed.
Each class is different; we build on the skills we learned the previous day. We urge all students to sign up at the beginning of each session, as starting halfway through the class schedule will make it very difficult to catch up to the class. Our classes are specifically designed to integrate new students with those who have been with us for years. In this way, we abolish intimidation and all students draw from each other’s strengths and share their creative ideas.
Tuition: Tuition is due via pre-registration either online or over the phone before the first day of class. This allows us to appropriately staff our classes.
Makeups: We do not offer make-up classes. This train is always moving. Be sure to select a class you can commit to. We do offer a 50% discount on private lessons to students currently enrolled in our program.
Attendance: Please be prepared to attend all classes in a session, as we are preparing students for a fashion show. Take advantage of each and every class you’ve paid for so you can fully bring your vision to fruition.
Cancellation/Refunds: We do not issue refunds, nor can we allow transfers of class enrollment once a spot is purchased. In the event of low enrollment (less than 4 students), we reserve the right to cancel class. Should this occur, we will let you know in advance, and a full refund will be credited to your card.
Class Times: All classes start and end on time. Please be prompt.
Single Day Registration: The power of our approach stems from the well-developed structure of our classes. One day does little to begin to develop a brand or garner technical understanding of the sewing process, we do not allow students to sign up for a single day.
Form of Payment: We offer a high-end, creative platform, and our schedule and payments run like clockwork. We now only accept credit cards for all our tuition. Sorry, no checks. Cash is king so we take that, too.
Food in the Studio: Students should eat before or after class.
